Facility Rentals The Dyck Arboretum of the Plains offers the beautiful limestone and cedar Visitor and Education Center and Prairie Pavilion overlooking the lake for full-day or half-day rentals. Families can enjoy reconnecting with one another in a quiet natural setting at reunions, birthday and anniversary celebrations, graduations and wedding receptions. Favorite areas in the gardens for weddings are the lake, the amphitheater and the buffalo grass meadow surrounded by wildflowers. Past weddings have included chamber music, a Civil War reenactment and a ceremony on horseback!

The Visitor and Education Center, completed in 1999, is a popular facility frequently rented by civic and business groups for meetings and retreats. The large projection screen, sound system and kitchen facilities are included in the rental price. Easy-to-move folding tables and padded chairs offer comfort and flexibility in the room arrangement. Walking through the gardens during free time refreshes mind and spirit. Churches and schools use the Center and gardens often for spiritual and educational programs. The Prairie Pavilion, completed in July of 2011, was originally intended to be an open-air pavilion, but now provides a wonderful indoor, climate-controlled pavilion or tent feel for weddings, receptions, formal dinners or business workshops and trainings. As in the Visitor and Education Center, tables and padded chairs are available for use. An entry hallway, restrooms, a storage area that doubles as a catering prep area, and small bridal room are also included. A list of area caterers is available upon request. Wildflower tours of the gardens can be booked for a small additional fee. |
